Application Procedure
Preparation of the Substrate
The surfaces to be repaired must be sound and free from all kinds of dust, oil and residues. Cold joints should be opened in a conical manner with a depth of at least 20 mm in depth and width
Mixing

Watch Points
• If BYK 1102 PLUG is below + 5 ° C or above +35 ° C in application, suitable temperature environment
should be provided or expected.
• The BYK 1102 PLUG is equipped with a rising hydration heat finisher. For this reason, it should be kept
moist for 10-15 minutes.
• Working and reaction times in special cementitious repair mortars are affected by air temperature,
humidity and floor temperatures. High temperatures accelerate hydration and the working time is shortened
accordingly. Low temperatures slow down hydration and thus extend the working time. For the material to be completed, the floor temperature and ambient temperature to be applied must not fall below
the minimum permissible temperature.
• In cold weather applications, the material must be conditioned in a hot environment at temperatures
between + 20 ° C and + 25 ° C and the mixture should be prepared with hot water to obtain the workability
of the material.
